The second wave of the coronavirus has just begun and yet, despite the number of victims being lower than in March and the average age is always high, people still die, even around the age of 50. In fact, in the Spoon River in recent months, not only the elderly and not only people with previous illnesses appear. A principle, the latter, which also applies to those over 70. As told by the stories ranging from the Center-North to the South, from the province of Massa Carrara to that of Cosenza where the victims of Covid had no other serious diseases. Taking a look at the numbers it also emerges that at the moment fortunately we die less even if the infections are higher (because there is a greater number of tampons). In the month between March 12 and April 12, the positives were 141,250 and the victims 18,641. Between 23 September and 23 October, 182,232 new positive cases emerged compared to 1,301 deaths.

The pensioner who has infected relatives and health workers
The 73-year-old Calabrian retiree Antonio is yet another proof of the danger of contagion both between family members and between people who attend hospitals. Originally from Buonicino, in Cosentino, the retiree died at the end of September in the intensive care of the Cosenza hospital where he was hospitalized due to the coronavirus. The doctors decreed that he had a very high viral load, in fact not only did he infect his wife, who was also in hospital in Cosenza, and his son who was later hospitalized in Val d’Aosta, but a series of people who came into contact with him more or less directly. The first two at the hospital of Praia a Mare where Antonio initially turned, another 3 in Scalea and 4 in Diamante, also in Cosentino. The first victim of the second wave of Covid in this area is instead a 72-year-old Neapolitan pensioner who was on vacation in Cariati (Cosenza).
