After the festive dinner and unwrapping the presents, a new fairy tale About a Christmas Star, directed by Karel Janák, awaits us. According to the general director of Czech Television Petr Dvořák, the story of the premiere fairy tale connects the human world, inspired by the images of Josef Lada, with a starry sky full of unique film effects. The shooting took place in the picturesque snowy foothills of the Western Tatras, where a unique group of actors, Vojtěch Kotek, met, Teresa Ramba, Aňa Geislerová, Ondrej Sokol, Kryštof Hádek, Matěj Hádek, Martin Huba, Leonie Brill or Zlata Adamovská. For Ana Geisler, who played the jealous Proxima, this was the first significant fairy tale role. “In my relatively rich career, fairy tales are completely absent, except for the Italian Princess Fantaghiro and the Angel of the Lord, where I flash for about three seconds. I longed for Czech. And when Proxima came, I just wanted her, “ revealed Aňa.
On the First Christmas Day, we will be able to play an original Czech-Slovak fairy tale The watchmaker’s apprentice about games of destiny, love, human smallness, but also courage, dexterity and goodness of the main characters. A day later, a romantic-adventure film for the whole family about healing water awaits us. There will also be a fairy tale in sign language. This year’s choice fell on the Robber’s Ballad.
News and premieres will be complemented by a number of time-tested titles. Let’s name for example Twelve Months (Marie Majkusová, Roman Vojtek), Angel of the Lord 1 + 2, Three Nuts for Cinderella, Pelíšky, The Good Soldier Švejk and Obediently Report, The Secret of the Castle in the Carpathians, The Secret of the Old Bambita or In Solitude by the Forest. For the thirtieth time, Czech Television is broadcasting Advent concerts, which will be supported by four non-profit organizations. On Tuesday, December 1, the popular interactive Advent calendar will be launched, accompanying the pre-Christmas period and traditions.
