After a defeat and a draw, Real Madrid has booked the first victory of this Champions League season against Internazionale. In their own home, the Madrid people won 3-2 after an attractive duel.
Real had a difficult time in the initial phase in an empty Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano. Internazionale had the better of the game and headed through Nicolò Barella on the crossbar. Not much later, Lautaro Martínez missed an open shooting opportunity.
The Madrid players were helped in the match by Achraf Hakimi, who put Karim Benzema face to face with Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic with a wrong back pass. The Frenchman did not fail. Not much later, captain Sergio Ramos doubled the score with a striking header. Even before the break, Inter did something in return. After a beautiful heel, Martínez scored the 2-1.
Rodrygo decides to duel
In the second half, the Italians were explicitly looking for the equalizer. Croatian Ivan Perisic managed to pass Thibaut Courtois after preparatory work by Arturo Vidal and Martínez.
Ten minutes before the end, 19-year-old Brazilian Rodrygo decided the game. After an assist Vinícius Júnior, the attacker hit the top corner.
