A dramatic accident happened on the E40 on Monday evening around 8:50 PM. The driver of a BMW ended up on the roadside with his car. The vehicle overturned several times and ended up on the grassy square of the carpool parking near Walshoutem. The driver, a 38-year-old man from Borgloon, was thrown from his car and partly ended up under it. Emergency services rushed to the scene and tried to resuscitate the victim. Unfortunately, no help was available and the victim died on the spot.
