Supporters of Democratic candidate Joe Biden have gathered in Washington near the White House on Tuesday night while voting continues in the US presidential election.
The square, recently renamed Black Lives Matter Plaza, has a festive atmosphere, music and dancing.
Dozens of policemen are holding Biden’s supporters several hundred meters from the White House, where the current president, Donald Trump, expects the election results.
Some of the activists came from other states, including a couple spoken to by AFP, from Florida, and others from Pennsylvania.
