Fighting promoter Eddie Hern said the fight scheduled for November 21 in London could not take place because Povetkin had been diagnosed with Covid-19. However, he expressed confidence that the two boxers will meet again in January.

Boxers would have fought for the World Boxing Council in late November (WBC) in the heavyweight temporary champion belt.

“Initially, we want to wish Povetkin a speedy recovery,” Hurry said in a statement. “It won’t be easy in the coming months, but we look forward to fighting at the end of January.”

The two boxers met each other on August 24, when, after an active White performance, Olympic champion Povetkin won the fifth round with a “hook”.

In his professional career, Povetkins has won 36 victories, lost twice, but one fight ended in a draw.

Povetkin suffered his first loss in 2013, when he gave in to the titled Vladimir Klichko, but five years later he also lost to British Anthony Joshua.

White, meanwhile, has won 27 of 29 fights in his career.
