Trump believes in victory – but takes nothing in advance

Tuesday morning US time, on election day, he was interviewed by Fox News by phone.

He expressed great faith in victory in important swing states such as Florida, Texas and Arizona. However, he assured that he will not participate in any guessing game by declaring the election winner premature.

“Our country will never be the same if they (the Democrats, editor’s note) win,” Trump said.

On election day, he will call around to people who have been loyal to him, says the 74-year-old president. In the interview, he also describes his election meetings as successful because so many people showed up.

– It has been incredible. “I think it will lead to a lot of votes,” Trump said.

The country has steeled itself for unrest that may arise in the wake of the election. Additional security fences have been erected around the White House. Shops and restaurants around the country have nailed chipboard in front of the windows for fear of vandalism.
