The Public Prosecution Service (OM) demanded tbs with compulsory nursing on Tuesday against Milton T. for stabbing a man to death in Groningen. With the demand, the public prosecutor follows the advice of the experts who have established that T. suffers from psychoses and is completely insane.
According to the OM, T. is behind the death of Hidde Bergman. The 27-year-old Bergman was apparently stabbed to death on May 14, 2019 while he was running on the Groningen Jaagpad.
T. often ran there too. Bergman was stabbed to death around 7 p.m. On the same evening, a witness saw the 26-year-old T. walking around “in a trance”. A camera was placed there after the stabbing incident. The suspect was captured on camera 26 times in the evening at that location.
The native Aruban firmly denies having anything to do with the stabbing. He does not know how his DNA ended up on a case found at the crime scene. It is a cover of a knife that could have been used in the stabbing incident. The weapon itself has never been found.

The suspect spoke about new victims
T. has recorded voice messages on several days after Bergman’s death. In it he says he will kill again. A list with the text “murder:” was also found. After the colon are names of T.’s friends.
The suspect says he made the audio recordings to scare the voices in his head. He states that he never intended to kill his friends.
A bad trip after ingestion of magic mushrooms and alcohol in 2014 is mentioned as a possible cause for the chronic schizophrenia. According to the public prosecutor, the experts’ explanation is clear and he asks the court to release the suspect from all legal proceedings.
“A secure treatment environment is necessary for the safety of the suspect and his environment,” said the OM.
Defense asks for acquittal
T.’s lawyer, Natacha Harlequin, asks for acquittal. According to the counsel, forensic evidence in the form of a knife is lacking and there are no witnesses to the stabbing incident itself. Also, no DNA traces of her client were found on the victim’s body.
The court will rule on December 14.
