Last weekend actor Sean Connery passed away at the age of ninety. Although he was active until 2003, he is best known for his seven appearances as James Bond. These are Connery’s most beautiful cars from his Bond films between 1962 and 1983.
The undisputed number one in this list is the Aston Martin DB5. Since its debut in Goldfinger in 1964, the Aston Martin can no longer be ignored from the film series. Sean Connery’s photo at the DB5 on a Swiss mountain pass is iconic.
The status of the DB5 has not escaped Aston Martin, because in 2018 the brand announced together with the production company of the James Bond films that it would build 25 copies of the model seen in Goldfingercomplete with gadgets. That same year, a LEGO building set of the DB5 appeared.
The car was subsequently featured in several films, such as Thunderball (1965) with Sean Connery again at the wheel. In addition, the Aston Martin figured Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), Casino Royale (2006) in Skyfall (2012).
In addition, the DB5 came into the picture briefly The World Is Not Enough (1999) and most recently in the movie Spectre (2015). Also in the upcoming movie No Time To Die is again a prominent role for the car.

Bond in a Toyota
Runner-up on this list is the Toyota 2000GT, made famous by the James Bond movie You Only Live Twice (1967), which is largely set in Japan. Because of Connery’s height, Toyota built two open versions of the sports car especially for the film, which was only available as a coupé.
In the meantime, the Toyota 2000GT has become one of the most iconic Japanese sports cars of all time, partly thanks to the film appearance. At auctions nowadays a minimum of 500,000 euros has to be paid for. In 2013, a copy was hammered at 1.2 million dollars, which at the time was more than 705,000 euros.

Ford Mustang on its side
In Diamonds Are Forever (1971) featured a bright red Ford Mustang Mach 1, an upgraded version of the standard Mustang. The model series as seen in the film was built between 1971 and 1973 and can be recognized by the two air intakes on the hood. The scene in which Bond balances the Mustang on two wheels through a narrow alley is famous.
Just as nice for this overview is the Triumph Stag from the same movie. James Bond, disguised as diamond smuggler Peter Franks, drives from London to Amsterdam in this car. For example, the car can be seen when it is driving on the Amsterdam canals.
With the Stag, built between 1970 and 1977, the British brand Triumph wanted to compete with luxury open cars such as the Mercedes-Benz SL. An unreliable V8 engine threw a spanner in the works, so that in the end only 26,000 units were built.
