Reports of gunshots, several wounded and several killed. It is the result of an “apparently terrorist” attack, according to the designation that Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer used in a television interview, which took place simultaneously in the city of Vienna, give account ÖRF. An Austrian police spokesman told state television that he is still unable to come up with a concrete death toll: “We cannot limit this in terms of numbers yet, we are still in the process of getting an overview.”
Four places were the scene of attacks: two restaurants, a synagogue and a Jewish community center.
Police forces recommend that no one get on public transport and to avoid public places. There is a large-scale police operation throughout the Austrian capital.
The leader of the Jewish community in the synagogue has already confirmed that there are no victims inside the synagogue, since the place of worship was already closed.
