CERT Polska warns against a new campaign of fraudsters who pretend to be the InPost courier company. Criminals are trying to extort data needed to log into electronic banking – indicated in the message.

CERT Polska was established to respond to incidents that violate security on the Internet. The team operates within the structures of the state research institute – the Scientific and Academic Computer Network (NASK).

Fraudsters are impersonating InPost
“We warn against a new phishing campaign using the InPost image and phishing login details for electronic banking” – we read in the CERT Polska post on Twitter.

According to experts, “cybercriminals have prepared a scenario using the alleged surcharge for the shipment in the amount of PLN 0.50”.

“After providing the first and last name, the victim is redirected to a page that uses the eCard image to increase the credibility of the payment. Malicious domains include a parcel locker[.]life and paczkomat24[.]uno “- they explained in a Facebook post.

Warnings against fraudsters
Also in August, CERT Polska warned against scammers impersonating InPost. Criminals sent text messages with a link that was supposed to allow them to obtain payment card details.

At the end of July Santander Bank Polska warned against fraudsters pretending to be a bank. “In the e-mails they sent, they asked to verify the account. The hidden link directed to a fake login page” – we could read in the message.

Earlier PKO BP published a statementin which he also informed about criminals posing as a bank. As indicated in the message, the scammers sent fake confirmations of the operation via e-mail.

Criminals have also impersonated recently under Facebook representatives. The CERT Polska team indicated in the entry that the attack was supposed to allow cybercriminals to “perform actions from our account by a maliciously linked application”.
