“Revive Martin ‘s project Keys I have a special task and I do it with great love together with Mārtiņš ‘big sons. Our goal is to achieve Mārtiņš’s intention, to present Latvia and schools with this valuable material on one website, to invite teachers and students to actively participate in the discussion about the history of Latvia. In this way, we see an opportunity to give the TV show additional educational value and lasting long-term usefulness for the society, “says Mārtiņš’s wife, Ilze Grase-Ķibilde.
Interneta platforma www.atslegas.tv will serve as a voluntary teaching aid for learning about Latvian history, for use in history lessons, for teachers, students and other interested parties. The website is intended as an added value for schools, teachers use the material as a visual addition to the topics of Latvian history discussed in history lessons. The lesson is 40 minutes long – there is enough time for both the teacher and Keys, both for discussion.

The key approach to illuminating history is to find an unusual point of view, even for seemingly well-known events, to “unlock other doors” to lesser-known facts and thus make these stories more interesting than “known history”. Internet platform www.atslegas.lv will be a useful addition to the creative learning of the school history program – the basis on which to develop a voluntary set of optional teaching aids for history teachers and students.
