BAKU, KOMPAS.com – Azerbaijan through President Ilham Aliyev stated, Russia No need to intervene and help Armenia in the war in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The two-state conflict in Karabakh has been ongoing for a month, with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sending a letter to the Kremlin.
In his letter on Saturday (31/10/2020), Pashinyan asked for “rapid consultation” on how Moscow can help them defend themselves.

When entertaining the Minister of Foreign Affairs Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu in Baku, Aliyev said the letter sent by Pashinyan was a “sign of defeat”.
He stressed that the treaty treaty does not apply because internationally, Nagorno-Karabakh is a territory of Azerbaijan.
“Azerbaijan is launching military operations in its territory and has no plans to attack Armenian territory,” said Aliyev’s presidential office.
Hundreds of people were reported killed when war broke out on September 27 in Karabakh, an area controlled by ethnic Armenians.
International efforts to cool the situation by seeking a ceasefire were bounced three times, with the two camps returning to fire.

Aliyev explained that his party would respect the ceasefire if the separatists did not intend to seize the area already occupied by his troops.
“This is the main reason why the war continues,” explained President Aliyev as reported AFP Sunday (1/11/2020).
Cavusoglu, who at his side agreed with Aliyev’s statement and at the same time reaffirmed Turkey’s support for Azerbaijan.
He said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had made it “unacceptable” that they did not provide assistance to Baku.
