Madeira today recorded the first death caused by covid-19, being a 97-year-old woman who was hospitalized at Funchal Hospital, informed the Regional Health Secretariat of the archipelago.
“It is with regret and sadness that we report the death of a patient with covid-19 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira”, says the Government of Madeira in the information released, addressing “heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family”.
In the same document, the Regional Secretariat says that it is a 97-year-old woman “with several associated comorbidities, who was hospitalized in the multipurpose unit dedicated to covid-19 at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital”.
