Between Saturday morning and Sunday morning, the RIVM received 8740 reports of positive tests. On Saturday there were 9,819, according to revised figures. Previously, 9,839 positive tests had been reported for Saturday.
The reports have been decreasing in recent days. On Friday, 11,127 new cases were reported.
In Rotterdam, 616 positive tests were added between Saturday morning and Sunday morning. Amsterdam had 519 new cases, The Hague 287 and Utrecht 161.
Just over 68,000 positive tests have been recorded in the past seven days. Since the outbreak began in February, more than 359,000 Dutch people have been tested positive. The actual number of people who contracted the virus is almost certainly higher, because not everyone was tested in the early stages of the outbreak. An unknown number of people have died or been cured without ever having been diagnosed with the virus.
The number of reported deaths increased by 39 in the last 24 hours. That does not mean that all these people died in the past 24 hours. Such information is sometimes passed on with some delay. 51 deaths were reported between Friday morning and Saturday morning.
Hospital admissions
The total number of corona patients admitted has increased by 45 compared to Saturday. A total of 2,493 patients with Covid-19 have now been admitted to hospitals, according to new figures from the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS) on Sunday.
The number of corona patients has increased, especially in nursing wards, to 1910. There are currently 583 corona patients in intensive care, 1 less than on Saturday. Two of these patients are in an ic in Germany.
In addition to corona patients, there are 446 patients with other conditions in the IC, six fewer than Saturday. This brings the total ic occupancy to 1029.
The number of new covid admissions is 237 in the clinic and 58 in the ic. In the past 24 hours, 38 patients have been moved between regions, including three IC patients.
