On October 28, the local airline “Alrosa” announced that the Tu-154 (in the specific plane in the picture) with 140 passengers made the last flight from Mirnia in Yakutia to Siberia to Novosibirsk.

The Tu-154 was developed by the Soviet company Tupolev and became the most common medium-haul passenger aircraft in the USSR. More than 1,000 such aircraft were involved in passenger transport.

The first Tu-154 flight took place on October 3, 1968, and the Tu-154 entered regular commercial traffic in 1972. Tu-154 was produced until 2013.

In the European Union (EU), Tu-154 flights on scheduled flights were banned as early as 2006 due to the aircraft’s high noise and fuel consumption.

There are still two Tu-154 passenger flights used North Korea airline Air Koryo.

Although the safety level of the Tu-154 has not been an issue, the aircraft has been involved in various disasters due to its widespread use in a variety of conditions.

In 2010 near Smolensk during foggy weather crashed by the Polish government’s Tu-154 with President Lech Kaczynski and other officials on board. All 96 people on board were killed.

December 2016 Russian army Tu-154 with members of the military choir on board crashed in the Black Sea. The plane went to Syria, killing all 92 people.
