Cervignano also suffers from the decision of the new governmental Dpcm that suspends the activities, forcing the managers to keep them closed and forcing sports customers, who in the capital of the Bassa are more than a thousand, to have to give up training with highly professional equipment that only gyms can to offer.

A gym owner who had believed and still strongly believes in the relaunch of the sector is Alessandro Tolone, instructor and coach of the structure in via Trieste in Cervignano, who, in addition to “traditional” training, also offers boxing, kick boxing, MMA and defense personal, functional fitness and cross training. In recent months, Toulon had decided to move from via Aquileia, offering the same services as before in a new location, in via Trieste, a stone’s throw from piazza Indipendenza: for the first time an activity of this type has seen the light in the heart of Cervignano. A beautiful story, unfortunately begun and finished (for now) very soon, after about twenty days, from early October until the issue of the new Dpcm, which on October 24th extinguished all the initial enthusiasm.
“The new rules have brought the world of sport and in particular gyms to its knees – affirms Alessandro Tolone – there is a great disappointment both from a moral point of view, given the courage it takes to transfer a ‘ activity already well underway in a certain place, both from an economic point of view because mine was a considerable investment in terms of money, for furniture, equipment and all chemical and sanitary devices to be able to reopen safely. We have applied all the anti-Covid regulations, the distancing, the signage, the disinfectant: precautions strictly respected by the owners of the gyms since last May, when the emergency seemed over. Then, a few days he takes a cold shower with the closure of the activities, and the resumption, which for now, we do not know when it will arrive ». From the Cervignano administration there are no official declarations, but the underlying bitterness shines through, in common that it has always had an eye for sport, but that has not been able to do anything other than implement the government directives.
