Since last Monday, indoor sports activities are not allowed. A difficult situation for those who work in this sector, who after a lockdown and expenses incurred to adapt to the previous anti Covid regulations, had to lower the shutters again. And if yesterday the owners of gyms and studios symbolically took to Piazza Bracci to demonstrate peacefully and silently against the provisions of the last Dpcm, in San Lazzaro there are also those who have rolled up their sleeves, trying to readjust to the situation.
Andrea Pasqui is the manager of the CFSL, a crossfit gym in via Fondè, which after learning the latest anti Covid regulations issued by the government on sport, has literally revolutionized his activity by ‘tearing’ the flooring from the gym to move it to the outside, thus managing to create adequate spaces and allow the training of his customers: “We do not give up – he explains to Bologna Today – and we have created 10 safe stations outside, respecting the required distance. In this way I am able to carry out more classes a day, and we are also equipping ourselves in view of rain and lower temperatures “.
And to deal with Covid, Pasqui has developed a cleaning system with the collaboration of users: “Each station is equipped with hand disinfected gel and spray disinfectant. The training sessions last one hour, and every person who enters ‘his space’ must immediately sanitize their hands, and before leaving, clean any used tools. I first of all, and every single person who attends the gym is responsible, towards himself and towards others – he underlines – We manage all reservations through a special app. It is necessary to have a valid medical certificate and to fill in, every time you come, a self-certification on your state of health “.
Pasqui then presses: “We were able to propose this alternative because we had the possibility of using the space outside, but those who have no external find it really hard to go on. During the lockdown, like many others, we did online training but it is necessary to renew ourselves to withstand this particular period ”. And he concludes: “Sport is health and prevention. Doing sports has a series of benefits and at this moment I believe that institutions should encourage users to lead a healthy life. Movement must remain healthy ”.
