“With this record, I want to make a little of all those who think that everything is easy with a rap. It is certain that the biggest fool in the room in Riga in 2020 will more often be not a hip-hop fan, but someone who doesn’t know anything about it and I have been repeating for more than half of my life, and I can say that mutations in hip-hop music are hard to compare to anything that has happened in any other genre of music in the last 40 years. It’s never finished, it’s never wrong or right, and it constantly challenges itself to change, evolve, break any frames, be free, multicultural, international, strong and innovative. This time, rap is the most popular genre of music on the planet, and I don’t even think it’s a fair fight. to say what rap is than what it is.It has never been just music and it is not just art. This record is firstly dedicated to myself and secondly to hip-hop culture. It is a personal and at the same time self-ironic (origin) story about to me i and my life in Latvia and hip hop at the same time, “says ansis.
The 12 songs of the album include guest artists such as rolands če, Kristīne Balanas, Kashuks, Gints Smukais, Chris Vader, Niklāvz, 181h (Dirty Loops), Oriole, Shenfi, DJ PM2THEAM, Didzis Bardo, Viesturs Melders, Elvijs Garfc , On the outskirts of Riga, and it was created in a small trailer room, which was turned into a home recording studio. The recording was mixed and mastered by ansis. The author of the album cover design – ansis. Publisher – “Dirty Loops”.
It is reminded that ansis’s previous solo album “Balzams” won “Zelta nikrofonu” as the best domestic rap recording of 2017. It was also nominated for the “Austrian Prize” as one of the 10 best Latvian music recordings of 2017 and won the title of the most streaming Latvian music recording of the year in the “DigiTop 100” top, beating all other Latvian most popular musicians. The “Earth Hour” (2018) created by the song camp “RigaLive” together with Kristīne Pāži and Kaspars Ansons has been played in streaming services more than 5.6 million times.
