Dead and injured after earthquake in Aegean Sea between Turkey and Greece

Turkish President Erdogan says on Twitter that he will use all available help. Several search and rescue teams are on their way to Izmir for emergency relief. Many citizens also help to search for people under the rubble.

Damage on Samos

It is still unclear whether there have been any casualties in Greece. However, damage is reported on Samos, where a tsunami warning has also been issued. In the capital Vathi, streets are said to have been flooded.

“The road along the harbor capital Vathi is now completely flooded,” says correspondent Conny Keessen. “People are still trying to get their cars away, but are turned away by the police.”

There are also reports that the earthquake was felt in Istanbul, Athens and Bulgaria.
