A New York City Police officer was suspended on Sunday after a video posted online shows him performing a choke hold on a black man.

This technique called “chokehold” in English has been banned in the New York Police Department since 1993.
“After a quick Home Office investigation, a police officer implicated in a disturbing incident in Queens has been suspended without pay,” New York Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said in a tweet on Sunday.
