With 180 votes in favor, one against and four abstentions, Morena’s bench in the Chamber of Deputies elected this Thursday to Ignacio Mier as its new parliamentary coordinator replacing Mario Delgado, who will be the new national leader of this political party.
“Nacho” Mier was the only candidate noted when the candidate register was opened.
In this private session, virtually, Ignacio Mier gave a three-minute speech where he highlighted the honor that would be to coordinate this group. He also proposed internal dialogue and harmony.
Mier is a Puebla politician close to the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who commissioned him in 2018 the federal election in Puebla.
He is 59 years old and is originally from Tecamachalco, Puebla and one of the main tasks he was commissioned to do was to reengineer the positions and expenses of the Chamber of Deputies since September 2018, when the 64th Legislature began.
