Lieven Annemans is withdrawing from the advisory body CELEVAL

Annemans always asked to pay sufficient attention to the welfare of the population. Critics and opponents have accused him from the start of his appointment for minimizing the impact of the virus. Annemans himself emphasized that his position was much more nuanced than many of his colleagues made it appear.

At one point, Annemans found that “the corona pendulum had blown”. He also explicitly warned against the negative side effects of overly strict measures where the government risks exaggerated fear and foert reactions: “It gets just dangerous when too many people say ‘Foert, I don’t care anymore. I don’t believe it anyway. You should avoid such reactions ”.

You can disagree with Lieven Annemans and fortunately there is freedom of expression in our country. But a little style and humanity in the comments does not harm health. Although some seem to think so.
