Instagram will now allow people to live stream for more than an hour. Users will soon be able to broadcast for up to four hours, writes The Verge.
The extended live streams will be available to all users, provided they have not previously broken Instagram’s rules. The longer videos would be suitable for longer online fitness classes and interviews, for example.
Live stream creators will also be able to save the streams. The videos can then also be shared outside of Instagram. The videos will remain available in the creator’s personal archive for up to 30 days after broadcast.
The feature will be available “soon”. A specific date has not been disclosed. Instagram has had a live streaming function since 2016.
