Things went haywire at TSG Hoffenheim this summer. Almost the entire management team was replaced, including sports director Alexander Rosen (45), who also had to leave the club.
Initially, junior manager Frank Kramer (52) took over the position on an interim basis, while the search for a long-term Rosen successor began in the background.
Does the new boss bring in a new coach?
According to information from Bild, this will soon be over: Andreas Schicker (38) will become the new sports boss for the Kraichgauer team. The Austrian is currently manager in his home country for reigning champions Sturm Graz.
And the statements of TV expert Dietmar Hamann (51) also agree with the information in the newspaper. The former Bayern and Liverpool professional spoke on the pay-TV channel Sky Sport Austria.
“I would say that I am 95 percent sure that he will go to Hoffenheim after the weekend, when there is an international break. He didn’t want to deny it. I heard it was going to happen,” said Hamann.
Schicker, in whom TSG is said to have been interested for a long time, confirmed discussions with Hoffenheim on Canal+: “There has now been contact again after the transfer period. Not more than that. We’ll see what happens in the next few weeks.”
Schicker’s first official act could be to hire a new coach; according to media reports, Pellegrino Matarazzo (46) is about to leave Sinsheim. There have recently been rumors about the assistant coach of the German national team, Sandro Wagner (36).
On Thursday evening, the American gained arguments for himself again with a 2-0 win in the Europa League against Dynamo Kiev.
