Chicago (USA), Aug 21 (EFE) .- The point guard Layshia Claredon scored 18 points, the reserve guard Crystal Dangerfield had nine of her 16 points in the fourth quarter and led the balanced and winning attack of the Minnesota Lynx that they beat Chicago Sky 95-101 on the road this Saturday.
Starting guard Kayla McBride also scored 16 points, center Sylvia Fowles reached 15 with six rebounds and three blocks that also helped the victory.
Forwards Napheesa Collier scored 14 points and reserve Aerial Powers had 10 points to complete the Lynx scoring roster that went 14-9.
The Lynx took their biggest lead with a 34-47 run when Fowles laid a layup with 2:17 left in the second quarter.
Point guard Courtney Vandersloot scored nine points during a 10-1 streak to close the first half and cut Sky’s deficit to four and guard Kahleah Copper made a layup to cap another 9-1 and make the score 63-62. Chicago’s first lead since the middle of the season.
But McBride responded with a jump shot at the other end and Minnesota led the rest of the way.
Vandersloot and guard-forward Allie Quigley scored 27 points each with Chicago (11-12). They combined to score 20 of 30 shots from the field, 7 of 10 triples, and 7 of 7 from the free throw line.
Chicago forward Candace Parker had to leave the game after worsening a left ankle injury.
