Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the ministry, said that the minister began her tour by inspecting the various departments of the Ismailia Medical Complex (formerly Ismailia General Hospital), to check on its readiness to provide the best medical service to patients in the new system, pointing out that the clinical capacity of the complex reaches 286 internal beds, 64 intensive care beds, in addition to 32 nurseries and 13 operating rooms.
Mujahid added that the Ismailia Medical Complex includes 9 specialized buildings to provide medical services in various specialties in the comprehensive health insurance system through departments (internal medicine, children, general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology and obstetrics, ear, nose and throat, brain and nerve surgery, and premature babies. Pediatric surgery, rheumatology, cardiothoracic diseases, intensive care, heart care, pediatric care, reception and emergency, physiotherapy, dialysis, urology, ophthalmology, cardiac catheterization, ICSI – cardiac rheumatism, fetal medicine).
He pointed out that the minister continued her tour by inspecting the medical and non-medical equipment works at the 30 June International Center for Nephrology and Urology, located inside the Ismailia Medical Complex, indicating that the center is scheduled to include 108 dialysis machines, 4 operating rooms, in addition to 12 clinics specialized in diseases Kidney and urinary tract.
In the same context, he indicated that the Minister held a meeting inside the main building of the Ismailia Medical Complex, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky, Assistant Minister for Supervision and Follow-up Affairs, Head of the Health Care Authority of the New Comprehensive Health Insurance System, Dr. Mustafa Ghanima, Head of the Clinical Medicine Sector, and Dr. Saeed Al-Saqan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Ismailia, and a number of doctors, engineers and technicians working in the complex, and directed the speedy completion of the ongoing works at the general site of the complex during the current week, and stressed the speed of completion of the final preparations for the June 30 Center for Nephrology and Urology and the supply of all necessary equipment, in preparation for For trial operation of the new comprehensive health insurance system
He added that the minister emphasized the training of all medical and administrative staff at the highest level in accordance with the standards of the comprehensive health insurance system, in a manner that ensures providing the best medical service to patients, and also thanked the complex workers for the speedy completion of development work and raising efficiency on the latest systems and in accordance with the accreditation standards of the new system.
It is noteworthy that the Ismailia Governorate falls within the five governorates of the first phase, which includes “Ismailia, Suez, Luxor, Aswan and South Sinai”, in which citizens’ registration began on the first of October 2019, in preparation for the implementation of the new comprehensive health insurance system, in addition to the governorate Port Said, in which the system was launched in July of last year.
