91 candidates fight for 12 seats in the Assembly of Huila • La Nación

Data from the National Registry reveals that there are 91 candidates distributed in 8 lists participating in the electoral contest for a place in the Departmental Assembly of Huila. One by one, these are the aspirants to monitor the actions of the next governor of Huila.

The 91 candidates registered to aspire to one of the 12 seats in the Huila Assembly (2024-2027) go by preferential vote or also known as an open list, that is, voters may vote for the political organization, or for the political organization and a specific candidate.

Hence, the candidates during their political campaign are emphasizing a number that represents them, in addition to their respective organization, so that citizens know how to choose them on October 29, election day.

According to the data extracted directly from the National Registry of Civil Status, there are a total of 8 lists, of which 5 are from coalitions and only three from parties. While the maximum number of registrants per list allowed to aspire to the Huila Assembly is 12, the minimum is one candidate, which is why one of the organizations has 8 candidates and another 11, to cite two cases.

It is made up of the Patriotic Union, Colombia Humana, Polo Democrático Alternativo, the Communist Party, We Are All Colombia, MAIS, Comunes, and the Colombian Workers’ Party (12 candidates).
