90PLUS | Nations League | Spain passes Portugal, Haaland brace makes Norway cheer

News | The Nations League attracted nine games over the course of Sunday. Spain also remained unbeaten in the home game against the Czech Republic, while Portugal lost to Switzerland.

The German national team had to settle for a 1-1 draw in Hungary on Saturday evening in the third match of the current Nations League campaign. The fourth day of the game began around 16.5 hours after the final whistle. In league A, the team that played well in the previous games conceded Portugal the first defeat. An early goal by Haris Seferovic tipped the scales in favor of Switzerland. Spain took the opportunity, defeated the Czech Republic and took the lead in the table.

Norway had previously won the Scandinavian duel against Sweden 3-2. Erling Haaland set the course for victory with his double pack. Emil Forsberg, who is under contract in Leipzig, reduced the gap, but his former team-mate Alexander Sörloth increased the lead to two goals again. Viktor Gyökeres’ goal came too late. Norway’s hopes of progressing to the senior squad then grew as closest pursuers Serbia squandered a 2-0 lead in Slovenia.
