This week, “90 ‘Enquêtes” focuses on the Marseille firefighters. In Marseille, it is nicknamed “the battalion”. The elite marine fire brigade celebrates its 80th anniversary this year. Exclusively, the 90 ‘Enquêtes teams shared their exceptional daily life. There are more than 2,400 men and women in 17 centers across the city. They are military and belong to the national navy. Every day, 24 hours a day, they provide more than 350 interventions, or one every 4 minutes! Marine firefighters are on the front line in the face of everyday tragedies: road accidents, serious injuries or fires. They must also face the blows of madness: fights, or excess of any kind, like a drunken man who went through a roof and fell from more than 4 meters. In this sometimes violent city, they are regularly brought in to help people with gunshot wounds. And firefighters are first and foremost sailors. They intervene both on land and at sea with their unit specializing in aquatic interventions. The 90 ‘Enquêtes teams followed their often perilous interventions in the Mediterranean Sea.
