90% fatality rate Ebola deaths occur one after another in Guinea and Congo

-The Ebola virus infection, which killed numerous victims in West Africa several years ago with a terrifying mortality rate of up to 90%, is being confirmed one after another in the same area, AFP and others reported on the 14th.

Guinea’s health minister announced that after an emergency meeting with officials on the same day, seven confirmed Ebola virus cases, including three dead, have occurred. “The lab confirmed the existence of the Ebola virus this morning,” he said.

The Ebola virus began in Guinea in 2013-2016 and then swept across West Africa, causing more than 11,300 deaths.

It is estimated that the Ebola virus reappeared in Guinea from the end of January. In Gueke, bordering Liberia, a man died of an unknown cause. A few days later the funeral was held, and some people who attended the funeral began to show symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, bleeding, and fever after a few days. However, testing in a laboratory in the area found the Ebola virus in some of them. Meanwhile, the Democratic Republic of the Congo also announced on the 7th that Ebola had outbreaks. Health officials said a woman residing in Vienna showed symptoms of Ebola on the 1st and died two days after being treated at a hospital.

The Ebola virus was first discovered in 1976 near the Ebola River in Zaire, the former name of Democratic Congo.
