Authorities found a 9-year-old girl dead inside an apartment in a Brooklyn high-rise on Sunday afternoon, New York City Police said.
According to the uniformed officer, the incident occurred around 1:00 pm when the officers responded to a call to go to the apartment of the building located at 571 Lincoln Place. Upon arriving at the residence, located on the fourth floor, they found Shalom Guifarro, a 9-year-old girl, with body trauma and was unconscious and unresponsive, police said.
Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene, they added.
According to the Police, the minor’s mother was the one who called the authorities and is being questioned at the barracks.
So far there are no arrests and the city medical examiner will determine the cause of death of the minor.
No further details were released.
This is a case under investigation.
