The beauty of the sky in June, no less stunning than last May. A total of nine sky phenomenon in this month, certainly not less beautiful with super blood moon.
The sky-pulling event begins on June 2, 2021, when the two planets, Earth and Jupiter, are close together. But unfortunately, some of the events that occurred cannot be seen in Indonesia. Come on, let’s read more information and schedule the June sky events.
1. Conjunction of the Moon and Jupiter
The first event you can witness is the conjunction between the Moon and Jupiter. This is an event in which two or more celestial bodies appear close to each other from the Earth’s perspective. This event involves an illusion because in reality the celestial body has a fixed distance.
This conjunction occurs on June 2, 2021 in the morning. You can start observing at 01.00 in your own local time. The moon will be in its half phase, while Jupiter will appear as a yellow star that doesn’t twinkle. The two will be 5 degrees apart in the eastern sky.

2. The peak of the Arietid meteor shower
Three days from now, the peak of the Arietid meteor shower will occur on June 10, 2021. As the name suggests, this event has a radian point or point appearing in the constellation Aries in the northeast direction. Reported Info Astronomy, you can observe it starting at 04.00 local time. Because that’s when Aries rises.
Predicted, there will be about 50 meteors that cross the sky per hour. This is a large number, you know. So that you can see it clearly, make sure there is no light pollution around you and buildings or trees blocking your view, OK!
Don’t worry, all the meteor showers listed on this list are not dangerous. Space rock and dust that enters Earth will be burned away by the friction of the atmosphere. So, they won’t inflict any damage.

3. Ring solar eclipse matahari
We arrive at the most anticipated event of the month. Following the total lunar eclipse that occurred on May 26, 2021, it is now the turn of the ring solar eclipse that appeared on June 10, 2021.
This annual phenomenon occurs when the Sun, Moon, and Earth are in a straight line. Meanwhile, the Moon is at its furthest point from the Earth so it cannot completely cover the Sun’s shadow. An annular solar eclipse also occurs because of this phenomenon.
Unfortunately, we who are in Indonesia cannot witness this event directly. Reported National EclipseThis 2021 annular solar eclipse can be observed in the northern hemisphere, such as Russia, Canada, and Greenland.

4. Conjunction of the Moon and Venus
Exactly two days after the eclipse occurs, you can see the conjunction between the Moon and Venus. Both will “meet” in the sky with a distance of only 1 degree from our point of view.
Unlike other celestial events that occur in the middle of the night, you can watch this conjunction after sunset. Precisely at 18.30 local time.
At that moment, the Moon is in the crescent phase. Meanwhile, Venus, dubbed the “evening star” looks like a very bright spot on its side. Observe the western sky to find both, yes!

5. Conjunction of the Moon and Mars
After “meeting” with Venus, the next Moon will appear close to Mars on June 14, 2021. Reported by Space Tourism Guide, these two celestial bodies are only 2.48 degrees apart when viewed from the Earth’s point of view.
In the western sky around 19:00, both will appear simultaneously. The moon will appear crescent-shaped, while Mars will look like a red star that doesn’t twinkle. Reported Info Astronomy, they will set at around 20.31 local time. So don’t delay, yes!

6. June Solstice
Only occurring twice a year, the solstice is not really a celestial event that we can see. The June solstice marks the arrival of winter in the Southern Hemisphere. On the other hand, the northern hemisphere will experience summer.
This phenomenon occurs due to the tilt of the Earth’s axis as it revolves around the Sun. So, during the year, there are times when the southern part is more inclined towards the sun and vice versa. At the June solstice, it’s Earth’s turn north to face the Sun.
Then what about our country which is at the equator? As it turns out, the solstice has no effect on us. Because the position of the equator with respect to the Sun tends to be the same.

7. The peak of the Bootid meteor shower
After the arrival of Arietid at the beginning of the month, it is now the turn of the Bootid meteor shower that will cross the Earth. You can observe it on June 27, 2021 after midnight. But most sky watchers are not looking forward to it because Bootid only delivers one to two meteors per hour.
However, this event is actually quite unpredictable. Reported Space Tourism Guide, in 1998, Bootid suddenly delivered 100 meteors every hour. Therefore, if you have time, take a moment to observe it, OK!

8. Conjunction of the Moon and Saturn
Towards the end, on June 27, 2021, the Moon will again experience conjunction. This time the “partner” is Saturn, the ringed planet. The two are thought to appear 4 degrees apart from Earth’s perspective.
Reported Info Astronomy, this event can be observed starting at 21.00 in Indonesia, use your own local time as a reference. Then, the peak of the conjunction will occur at around 02.32 (June 28, 2021) until it finally sets at sunrise.
You can witness this monthly event in the eastern sky. The moon will be in a convex phase, while Saturn will appear as a yellow star that doesn’t twinkle nearby.

9. Conjunction of the Moon and Jupiter
June will be closed by the conjunction of the Moon. This time, he will “meet” with Jupiter on June 28, 2021. The two are only 4 degrees apart from Earth’s point of view.
Citing reports Info Astronomy, both will be visible at 22:30 in the eastern sky. Throughout the night, Jupiter will not leave the side of the Moon. Unfortunately, the largest planet in the solar system only looks like a brightly shining dot next to the Earth’s satellite.
Even though there are celestial events that cannot be seen in Indonesia, there is still much that you can enjoy. So don’t miss it.
