9 fall with arsenal and tactical equipment

The Security Coordination Group, made up of Sedena, the National Guard, the State and Federal Prosecutors’ Offices and Fuerza Civil, arrested nine people with arsenal and tactical equipment in El Carmen.

The first intervention occurred on Friday morning at the intersection of Crisantemo and El Jaral streets, in the El Jaral Sector 7 subdivision.

Area where they were carrying out a strategic deployment when they detected the individuals aboard a Hyundai Sonata vehicle, which matched the description provided for their search, so they asked them to stop.

When approaching the occupants of the car, they said their names were: Henry, 37 years old, Jesús and/or Juan, 35 years old, Jorge, 45, Javier, 46, and Roberto, 27 years old.

The same people who were asked to carry out a precautionary review of their belongings, which resulted in the confiscation of

five long weapons, 30 magazines and 775 bullets, 198 doses of a crystal-like substance, 30 doses of green, dry grass with the characteristics of marijuana, and five ballistic vests.

A second arrest later occurred in which Jorge, 21, Omar, 19, Alexis, 18, and a 17-year-old teenager were arrested.

The young men were found on Rincón de la Pradera Street at its intersection with Rincón del Valle, in the Rincón del Carmen neighborhood.

Once they approached the suspects, they were asked to carry out a precautionary search, which resulted in the seizure of three long weapons loaded with 69 bullets, six long weapon magazines and 109 bullets, three ballistic vests, 165 doses of green and dry grass with the characteristics of marijuana and a homemade machete.

The judicial authorities were already looking for Javier, 46 years old, who has two arrest warrants for the crime of qualified homicide.

In addition, the nine men are considered priority targets, in addition to working for a drug cartel with a national presence.

Due to the events, they were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for any eventuality.
