86-Year-Old Man Arrested for Allegedly Murdering His Wife in Queens Home

New York police say they have arrested Ovidio Porras, an 86-year-old man for allegedly murdering his 78-year-old wife inside their Queens home and trying to cover up the crime.

Last Wednesday, authorities went to an address at 9130 91st Street in the Woodheaven area.

Inside they found the lifeless body of Luz Porras, 78, at the bottom of the stairs of the house.

The corpse had a blow to the face.

At first her death was handled as accidental, since it had been said that the woman fell from the stairs.

However, following investigations, the case was investigated as a homicide.

The authorities reported that on Thursday night at 8:40 p.m. they arrested Ovidio Porras, the victim’s husband.

By batons he was charged with murder, criminal contempt.

He was also charged with tampering with evidence to try to pass off the crime as an accidental fall.

The investigation of the case continues.
