Vatican City ∙ Pope Francis celebrated his 86th birthday by honoring 3 people who spread the rays of compassion in society. The Pope also presented awards named after Mother Teresa to the trio she led in their service activities.

Gian Piero, who lives homeless in Via Vaticano, is known to street kids by the nickname Wu. Wu earned the right to receive his dad’s award by sharing what he achieved with his kind. Pope Francis has entrusted the pearl into the hands of Gian Piero, delivering the award named after Mother Teresa, the mother of the poor.

The Franciscan priest Hannajalouf, who works among the poor in Syria, and the Italian entrepreneur Silvano Pedralo are the other 2 people who won the award. Silvano is famous for building schools and supplying clean water to schools. The function was also attended by representatives of the Sisters of Charity.

3 sculptures will be delivered to the Vatican Greece

Rome – Pope Francis has proposed to give Greece 3 Parthenon sculptures that are more than 2500 years old in the Vatican Museums. These are marble sculptures that were part of the Parthenon, an ancient temple named after the goddess Athena in Greece. They are the head of a horse pulling Athena’s chariot, the head of a child and a bearded male face. They have been in the Vatican Museums for over a century.
