Spotify faces the biggest expansion in its history. Suddenly, it will almost double the number of markets in which it is available.
Of the more than 90 current markets it will go to more than 170 for the next few days. The popular platform streaming Audio has announced its arrival at 85 new countries spread across Europe, Africa, Asia, South America and the Caribbean. This is the case, for example, of Georgia, Angola, Cambodia, Guyana or Jamaica.
Spotify thus points to more than 1 billion potential users. These listeners will be able to opt for a free plan or premium to access the world catalog of this online service and personalized playlists. In addition to music, they will have podcasts at their disposal.
This experience will be available at first from the mobile or computers. And later, it will come to televisions, speakers, wearables and automobiles.
“As we enter new markets, we will accelerate the discovery of more genres like K-Pop, reggaeton and amapiano, who have earned a place in the world music arena ”, they comment from Spotify. “This expansion will help ensure that the sounds and stories that were once local can reach a global audience ”.
“All this untapped musical energy and access to our innovative tools for creators will help empower artists and empower them to turn their passion into a profession,” adds the company, which with this move will add more 36 languages to your platform.
