84 The Russian office asks Putin to go back

A total of 84 district officials in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russiaaccording to the President Vladimir Putin resign. They think Putin is bad for society and the country.

This call for a resignation against Putin is expressed in a petition that was revealed by the official representative of St. Petersburg Semenovsky, Ksenia Torstrem, in a statement on Twitter. The petition was opened specifically to regional and district representatives in Russia.

“Various officials have called for Putin’s resignation,” Torstrem said on Twitter along with the petition on Monday (9/12).

Initially, the petition was signed by 18 regional representatives in Russia, according to reports CNN. Since then, the number of officials who have signed the petition has continued to grow.

Torstrem also asked officials representing other cities to sign the petition.

“If you are a deputy and you want to join, you are welcome,” Torstrem said in Russian.

MEPs who signed the petition believe Putin’s actions were harmful to the nation and the state.

“We, the deputies of the Russian city, believe that the actions of President VV Putin are harmful to the future of Russia and its citizens,” the petition reads.

Other officials such as Morsko’s legislator Denis Borisovich Vasiliev also signed.

According to Torstrem, a total of 84 people signed the petition as of Monday (9/12).

“Another 84 signatures have been received, now we will review them,” Torstrem wrote.

Nonetheless, the petition did not explain in detail whether the reason it urged Putin to step down was due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

However, calls for Putin to step down amid rumors of cheating in local and regional elections this weekend, he said Moscow times.

Furthermore, this petition was also issued when Russian troops were overwhelmed by the Ukrainian counterattack. Russian troops surrendered and even withdrew from some areas of eastern Ukraine, notably Kharkiv and Luhansk.

The petition then continues: “We demand the resignation of Vladimir Putin as President of the Russian Federation!”

Officials who signed this petition also face Putin’s threat of punishment. Because, since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine, the Putin government has passed a law that gives the state the authority to punish anyone who is believed to have spread false information about the government, especially Russia’s war in Ukraine.
