83-Year-Old Man Hit by Train in Neuilly-Crimolois: Absolute Emergency Situation

An 83-year-old man was hit by a train in Neuilly-Crimolois (Côte-d’Or) while he was riding his bike. He is in an absolute emergency situation and was transported to Dijon University Hospital. Rail traffic returned to normal, after being interrupted during the intervention of the firefighters.

The events took place around 4:00 p.m. this Sunday, November 5. An 83-year-old man who was riding a bicycle was hit by a train in Neuilly-Crimolois, on departmental road 905, near the SNCF bridge. He is in a state of absolute emergency and was transported to the Dijon University Hospital (Côte-d’Or).

17 firefighters from Dijon were deployed on site, equipped with six engines, a road emergency van and two ambulances. A specialist stretcher-lifting unit was also present at the scene, while the entire operation was supervised by two officers.

According to firefighters, the victim did not jump from the bridge under which the train was passing. He was riding his bike along the tracks. An investigation is being carried out by the gendarmes who made the first observations on site.

The 83-year-old man was hit by a TER which was traveling in the Dijon – Besançon direction. 200 people are on board the train. Two of them became unwell following the incident. These are two young minors aged 16. They were transported to the children’s hospital in a relative emergency situation.

Rail traffic was interrupted during the intervention. It is now restored
