An 83-year-old man from Dresden fell five meters while climbing in Saxon Switzerland. As the rescue control center in Dresden announced on request, he had to be flown to the Dresden-Friedrichstadt hospital with the Christoph 62 rescue helicopter due to his serious injuries.

The man from Dresden climbed the Gamrig disc near the health resort Rathen. Just before he reached the summit, he apparently lost his footing and fell. Other climbers were already on the rock. They provided first aid until the called comrades from the mountain rescue team from Bad Schandau and Sebnitz arrived. He was finally rescued with a winch.
