The boat is full. This Saturday, Texans will have the opportunity – once again – to seek their luck in the Lotto Texas drawing and take home the highest prize played since 2010.
In total, there are $83 million, which can leave a cash prize of $50.2 million if that is the option that the eventual winner favors.
This is the eighth highest prize played in Lotto Texas history.
It should be noted that lottery winners in Texas do not pay state taxes on the winnings of the prize obtained, although federal taxes must be paid.
Texas Lottery officials say that if you ever get a winning ticket, sign it and keep it in a safe place. Then seek financial and legal advice and call the Texas Lottery to schedule an appointment to claim your prize.
This is the largest Lotto Texas jackpot up for grabs since the May 29, 2010 drawing, when the announced jackpot reached an estimated $97 million. According to the Texas Lottery, only once has anyone won a prize greater than $80 million in the last 30 years.
