80,000 people are Bitcoin millionaires

Let me tell you two surprising numbers about Bitcoin, which recently hit a high of the last calendar year at $37,500.

The first is the one in the title: the number of Bitcoin addresses with a value of more than 1 million dollars is 80,000. It’s a record.

I exaggerated a bit in the title, in the sense that it is about 80,000 addresses, and a person can have several wallets. So it doesn’t have to be about 80,000 “uniques” who have over 1 million dollars in Bitcoin. On the other hand, we’re talking about tens of thousands of Bitcoin millionaires anyway, so I don’t think most of them have more than one address.
