Dear Mr. Borisov,
We, the members of the PP GERB, part of the Municipal Organization of the city of Svoge, hereby express our will TO HAVE OUR MEMBERSHIP IN THE PP GERB TERMINATED.
As convinced democrats, people with an active civic position, aware of our responsibilities as citizens of EUROPEAN BULGARIA, we feel compelled to submit our resignation as members of the PP GERB.
A COAT OF COAT IS NOT JUST A NAME, A COAT OF COAT IS AN IDEA.
This idea is our idea.
Today, on the eve of local elections 2015, we clearly realize that what is happening in our city and in our country is a gross and unprecedented trampling of the IDEA OF COAT OF ARMS.
We, who are your voters, we, who with our persons and work over the years worked to have the policy of PP GERB proclaimed, today we consider that the principles of free choice, voluntariness, honesty and loyalty, legality and dignity are just words of the founding document of the party – the Statute.
Specifically:
In Svoge, there has been a conflict for years between the members of the Management Board, as representatives of the individual territorial communities, and the mayor and municipal manager – Zhoro Radoev Tsvetkov. Conflict and intolerance between Svoge Municipal Council, incl. the municipal councilors from the GERB quota and the mayor Zhoro Tsvetkov. The reasons for the conflict are entirely Tsvetkov’s fault. Repeatedly and in every way, this was appealed to the headquarters of PP GERB. Numerous meetings were held with leading figures from the party, declarations and documents were deposited, which did not lead to any change.
Zhoro Tsvetkov accepts his functions as the Municipal Manager as a single-person and single-authority management based on the principle of “authority and obedience”. He does not respect the dialogue, the opportunities given to him to express himself by conducting politics in defense and benefit of the citizens and the municipality of Svoge through the situational right-wing politics of the PP GERB. He is completely focused on his self-interest and ambition to rule at any cost. The results are numerous, but the last ones are particularly revealing:
At the meeting held on 17.06.2015, fifty-seven out of a hundred members nominated and supported Georgi Petkov’s candidacy for participation in the elections for mayor of the municipality. Zoro Tsvetkov received 40 votes. Insulting manipulations and repressions against dissenters followed. Georgi Petkov was fired, the door of the party office was locked and the technical assistant Vladislava Simeonova was removed, scolded and threatened with suicide. The municipal manager Tsvetkov openly threatened to fire anyone who did not vote for him. He was forcing. Once again, insults and slander about betrayals and selling of votes, accusations of purposeful divisiveness rained down in the forums. The personal attacks and slander were unprecedented.
On 18.07.2015, at a regulated meeting for the nomination of candidates for municipal councilors, Zhoro Tsvetkov stated that he was ordered not to hold a meeting and refused to lead one. He refused to vote. Observing the Statute, we waited and held the meeting, according to the official documents and after a thorough check of the right to vote of each of those present. We made a protocol.
Tsvetkov made a crude attempt to manipulate the assembly’s vote. Thirty-seven candidate party members, not yet approved by the Executive Committee, were brought into the hall, compromising the vote. With few exceptions, everyone dependent on Tsvetkov – employees in municipal administration, their relatives or those who have been promised a specific benefit or position. One of the proposed mayoral candidates is a person with several convictions.
At a meeting held at the Headquarters of the PP GERB, it was officially announced to us that Zoro Tsvetkov will be nominated as a candidate for mayor of the municipality.
For us, these events lead to the conclusion that WE CANNOT CONTINUE to be members of a Municipal Organization, or a political party, which allows the following:
Violation of the principle of voluntary membership.
Violation of the principle of freedom of choice.
Disrespecting the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Statute and values of the PP GERB, which we have adopted.
Changing our vote.
Criminal behavior and pressure from the head of the structure.
Trampling our honor and dignity.
In conclusion, given the many investigative cases and those involving quite a few citizens of Svoge, Tsvetkov proves his inability to bear responsibility for his actions and to deal with any situation, at least to win the upcoming local elections legally.
We refuse to support such a choice, such a policy, and such an undoubted failure. We refuse complicity.
The present is supported by 80 requests to leave our membership in PP GERB and their number will grow.
