Hernández’s arrest was carried out at the end of last year, thanks to the fact that US and Mexican authorities joined forces in a multinational operation to combat organized crime in the Aztec country.

Hernández was arrested along with Reyes Aranda, a resident of Naples who was dedicated to monitoring the Florida docks in search of potential vehicles to steal and take to Mexico. Likewise, six other people involved were arrested and have already pleaded guilty to various crimes.

The operation served to identify several Cuban citizens residing in Mexico who were involved in illicit activities, as well as some Mexicans who helped the organization in Quintana Roo.
