8 Ways to Analyze Good and Correct Journals, Know the Steps

Try to determine something about the purpose, audience, and content of the paper before you start reading. Some questions to guide in considering the article as a whole include Who wrote the article? What are the author’s qualifications? What audience is the writer aiming for? Article about what? And what sources do I use?

Find the purpose, structure and direction of the article

Now that you’ve seen the article in its entirety, start reading. You should be able to find the author’s statement of purpose, or thesis statement, before the end of the introduction. You should also be able to tell what evidence the author will use to support his or her position. The author may also explain what limitations have been placed on the article: for example, the length of time or period, geographic location, extent of information to be used, and theories to be applied.

Some of the questions that can guide you in how to analyze this journal are What is the main point or author’s thesis? What evidence did the author use? What limitations do the authors place on this research? What is the author’s point of view?
