1. Not Doing the Test
High cholesterol levels usually don’t cause any symptoms, so it’s important to have them checked. If you notice a problem, diet, lifestyle changes, and medication can help. After the age of 20, the doctor will perform a simple blood test every 4 to 6 years to make sure it is in a healthy level.
2. Lazy to do sports
Regular exercise is one of the best ways to control cholesterol. You don’t need to run a marathon, but just 40 minutes of walking, swimming, biking, or dancing three or four times a week. You can also divide it into 10 minutes throughout the day doing push-ups, pull-ups and lifting weights.
3. Sit Too Long
Sitting for too long has been linked to obesity, heart disease and high blood pressure. This habit also lowers good cholesterol, which helps get rid of the bad stuff, and raises triglyceride levels. If you work at a desk, try to get up and move every 30 minutes, or use a standing desk.
