8 This Month Minister Nadiem Banging The Table & Angry, What Is The Reason?

Jakarta

Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Nadiem Makarim, admitted that he was angry if there were still schools that did PJJ and ended up not going to school. What is the reason Nadiem is angry?

“At this time, I have been tossing tables for almost 8 months, going to various areas to ask schools to immediately implement PTM. I like to be angry with various areas that do not have internet and do distance learning (PJJ) and many end up not school, “he said Nadiem via YouTube in the Bangkit Together event, Tuesday (28/9/2021).

Nadiem also explained, there are 40% of schools that conduct face-to-face learning (PTM). However, according to him, the number is still small.

In addition, Nadiem also explained that schools in Indonesia are still far behind compared to other countries.

“We don’t know how far behind we are from abroad. We have to look at PISA. But at least the breakdown of the results can be seen from the results of the AN,” said Nadiem.

“Knowing how far the lag is, so the National Examination has been removed to be replaced by the National Assessment (AN) to measure literacy, numeracy, and character education. AN is also used to map lagging and to measure backwardness,” added Nadiem.

During the pandemic, Nadiem also provided the option of using an emergency curriculum.

“We give schools the option to use the emergency curriculum. So specifically, it is not left behind. It turns out that 36% of schools use this curriculum,” said Nadiem.

According to research conducted by Nadiem, the use of emergency curricula is significantly lower.

Nadiem He also emphasized that he would explore his research first.

On that occasion, Nadiem again appealed to open face-to-face schools. It has also been regulated in the SKB 4 ministers.

“All regulations and SOPs are clear, you just have to follow the SKB of the 4 ministers. It’s no longer time to close schools, unless there is a possibility of transmission. But at this time the possibility is still very small,” said Nadiem.

He also explained that the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Health had collaborated in controlling face-to-face school research.

“There is an initiative from the Ministry of Health to conduct sampling from schools. Indeed, there is an increased risk but data must be used. Sometimes it is not from the PTM but from dormitories in schools or students who are getting together,” said Nadiem.
