8 signs of hope for the pro-life movement in 2021

The pro-life movement has always been characterized by deep hope throughout its entire existence. In the midst of a year in which the Biden-Harris administration seeks to introduce a government agenda that includes extreme abortions in the United States, we present eight favorable signs that can help renew hope in advancing the pro-life cause in 2021.

1. The March for Life continues!

The 48th March for Life in America will be held on January 29 in Washington, DC. While most events were canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers assured pro-life that the march will continue, this year virtually.

The theme of the March is “Together Strong: Life Unites” (United we are strong: Life unites us). Speakers include Tim Tebow, Benjamin Watson and the Archbishop of Kansas City, Bishop Joseph F. Naumann, personalities who are sure to energize the pro-life movement and take on new momentum.

2. There is a historical record of pro-life women in the House of Representatives

In 2020, 18 new pro-life women were elected to the United States House of Representatives. Of these, 10 have replaced representatives who were in favor of abortion.

To put this in perspective: a record number of 29 pro-life women will serve in the United States House of Representatives in the new Congress, more than double the previous record.

3. 2021 is the Year of Saint Joseph, patron saint of parents and families

Pope Francis announced a Year of Saint Joseph in honor of the 150th anniversary of the saint’s proclamation as the patron saint of the universal Church. This period will last from December 8, 2020 to December 8, 2021.

It is comforting to know that the earthly father of Jesus and husband of our Holy Mother will have his strong hold in the year 2021. Saint Joseph, although quiet in his words, was a man of great action and protection in the Holy Scriptures. We can trust it to help protect vulnerable lives in our world today.

It is when you think of the wide variety of titles of Saint Joseph that all the ways in which he intercedes are clearly seen: Patron of parents, guide all parents to love and protect their children. Adoptive Father of Jesus, help families see the beauty of welcoming or adopting life in their homes. Terror of demons, expel all demons from the abortion industry.

4. The Supreme Court is prepared to protect life

With Amy Coney Barrett as a newly confirmed judge, the Supreme Court is in a position like never before to undermine Roe vs. Wade, the case in which the Supreme Court opened the doors to abortion in the United States in 1973.

Senior Counsel and Vice President of the Center for Life with Alliance Defending Freedom, Kevin Theriot, told Catherine Hadro on EWTN Pro-Life Weekly that ‘it is possible to overturn the 1973 abortion ruling now,’ but the Supreme Court will likely do so. do in a series of cases that gradually begin to undermine Roe and then minimize his reach. “

5. Pregnancy care centers remain strong

According to the Charlotte Lozier Institute’s October 2020 report titled “Pregnancy Centers Stand the Test of Time,” in 2019, 2,700 pro-life pregnancy centers nationwide served nearly two million people with an estimated value of nearly 270 millions of dollars.

Pregnancy centers are on the front lines of the pro-life movement in serving women most in need. These same centers will continue to serve mothers and babies in this new year by witnessing the mission of true compassion, caring and empowerment of the pro-life movement.

6. Pro-life strategy continues to triumph at the state level

The recently released Americans United for Life (AUL) “Life List 2021” report shows that pro-life laws at the state level are still very much alive and thriving.

AUL named Arkansas the most pro-life state in the country, because it passed 10 pro-life laws in 2019. Following the Supreme Court of Medical Services ruling in June 2020, these laws were allowed to go into effect.

There are many other examples of pro-life strategy being successful at the state level. Among them is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who signed a pro-life bill in the summer of 2020 that requires minors to receive parental consent before having an abortion. Advocates for life expect this statewide trend to continue in 2021.

7. There is a growing awareness of the reversal of the abortion pill

Chemical abortions, also known as medical abortions or abortion pills, is a method that occurs when a woman takes two pills to end the life of her baby. This tragic method is on the rise, as the abortion industry is aggressively pushing it.

It may seem like a cause for despair, but this is where there is hope: abortion pills can be reversed. If the mother has not taken the second abortion pill, there is a way to save the baby’s life that requires the use of progesterone to reverse the effects of the first abortion pill.

A growing number of women are realizing this miraculous and innovative life-saving technique. Research and share this information so that more children will be saved.

8. The COVID-19 pandemic has made more people appreciate

The more than 300 thousand people who died in the United States alone from COVID-19 remember our mortality and the preciousness of human life.

Individuals and society as a whole made unprecedented sacrifices and behavior changes throughout 2020 to protect our most vulnerable citizens, especially during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic.

As our global conversation focuses on protecting life, more people are expected this year to understand the underlying pro-life message: each and every human life has dignity and is worth protecting.
