8 restaurants with a first Green MICHELIN Star for their commitment to sustainable gastronomy

Today, the Maastricht MECC was the setting for the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony Netherlands, where the long-awaited selection for 2024 was announced. The new list of achievements includes 1 new restaurant with 2 MICHELIN Stars, 10 with 1 Star and 8 new Green Stars. The complete selection of the MICHELIN Guide Netherlands includes 501 restaurants, including 122 Star Restaurants.

This reflects the courage, talent and dedication of the Dutch gastronomic landscape. Spread across the country, our teams are noticing the emergence of young talents who are increasingly asserting themselves through their individuality and increasing culinary creativity.”

Since 2021, Michelin’s Green star has been awarded to chefs who integrate sustainability into their restaurants in a unique or distinctive way. There are now a total of 23 restaurants with a Green Star. The eight restaurants with a first Green star are:

    • Neder, Alkmaar

    • Restaurant Vannu, Bavel

    • Mearkas, Eastermar

    • Flores, Nijmegen

    • Cooking Atelier Op Oost, Oosterend

    • Fermin, Rotterdam

    • Heimar, Utrecht

    • Lutum, Wijk bij Duurstede
