8 people in hospital after a gas leak detected in Lilles

25 firefighters from Béthune, Aire-sur-la-Lys, Auchel and Lillers intervened this Sunday for carbon monoxide poisoning following the malfunction of a gas boiler in a home. The firefighters gathered rue d’Aire in Lillers. The explosimetric readings turned out to be positive at 141 ppm in the kitchen. The human toll reports 8 involved (a couple and their 5 children and a friend of the family). After assessment at center 15, all the victims were transported without medical treatment to various hospitals in Artois to carry out checks.

The 36-year-old mother and her 3 children aged 8, 10 and 13 were taken to hospital in Arras. The 43-year-old father and a 15-year-old girl were taken to the Beuvry hospital center. Finally, two 17-year-old teenagers were transported to the Divion polyclinic.
